UALR William H. Bowen School of Law
Career Services

The UALR William H. Bowen School of Law Career Services program provides guidance in career planning and professional development.  The program is the liaison between prospective employers, law students, and recent graduates.  Services are available to help students improve the following skills:

  • Identify personal career goals that are consistent with their talents and interests;
  • Access available resources to make informed career decisions;
  • Research and select prospective employers and job positions; and
  • Develop resumes, cover letters, and interviewing techniques to effectively communicate their strengths to prospective employers.

The Career Services program hosts employers through the on-campus interviewing program in the fall and spring terms.  Every month, Career Services e-mails employment listings to current students and recent graduates.  In addition, current employment opportunities are listed on the first floor job board.  The program provides information on opportunities for clerkships and internships in the summer, fall, and spring, as well as full-time career positions for recent graduates.  Career Services also maintains binders, located in the career resources library, which contain information for regional, national, and global job opportunities.  In addition we coordinate student participation in regional and national career fairs, including EqualJusticeWorks, Southeastern Minority Job Fair, Presidential Management Fellowship Program and the Patent Law Interview Program.
