Michael Dinnerstein has been a professor at the University of Wyoming College of Law, the Texas Tech University School of Law, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Bowen School of Law, the Appalachian School of Law, the Florida Coastal School of Law, and the New England School of Law.
He has taught torts, civil procedure, labor law, agricultural law, natural resources law, criminal law, criminal procedure, capital punishment law, defender aid clinic, legal practice, and professional responsibility.
His criminal law experience includes serving as an assistant appellate counsel in the Wyoming State Public Defender's Office, an associate appellate counsel in the Criminal Appeals Bureau of the Legal Aid Society of New York City, and the director of the Wyoming Defender Aid Program. He also has served as the secretary-treasurer of the Association of Legal Aid Attorneys.
His civil law experience includes working as a staff attorney of the United Mine Workers of America in Washington, D.C., a senior counsel in the Affirmative Litigation Division of the New York City Law Department, and a senior assistant attorney general in the Administrative Law Division of the Wyoming Attorney General's Office.
Professor Dinnerstein has also served as a senior editor of the Harvard Environmental Law Review. His work for the State of Wyoming included Indian, mineral tax, and game and fish law matters.
He has been admitted to the bars of the United States Supreme Court, the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Third, Sixth, Tenth, and District of Columbia Circuits, the Supreme Courts of Colorado, Minnesota, New York, and Wyoming, and the Court of Appeals of the District of Columbia.
