A native of Mexico, Professor Oliver's background enriches her teaching. She was selected best teacher on the entire UALR campus, by national judges, in 1993. While in law school, she was Research Editor of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Law Journal. The Arkansas Bar Association has awarded her its Golden Gavel award for her work as Chair of the Committee on Individuals with Disabilities. She has conducted continuing education courses for attorneys and numerous presentations to other groups in the areas of disability law and legal writing. She teaches Legal Writing, Immigration Law and Disability Law. Fluent in Spanish, she has also served as a simultaneous interpreter in court and worked on the certification of interpreters for the Arkansas Supreme Court.
