Students Launch Fundraising Drive

Students have begun calling graduates of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law in order to raise money to renovate the second-floor student lounge.

The student lounge serves as a gathering place for Bowen students.

The phone-a-thon will run through Nov. 30. Funds will be used to give students a more inviting home-away-from-home where they can study, eat, or relax.

"In addition to the student use, we will be able to use this area as an event space," said Wanda Hoover, assistant dean for external relations. "We hope to begin construction in 2010 and are working now to raise funds to defray as much of the cost of the renovation as possible. This renovation will make a great difference for the Law School."

Architects imagine that the new student lounge will fill multiple roles. This rendering shows the lounge as a student hang-out.
