Dean Chuck Goldner will return to teaching after eight years as Dean of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. He became Dean in 2000 and was the longest serving dean in the Bowen School's history. Dean Goldner showed an unstinting devotion to the Bowen School of Law, an unstoppable drive for public service, and an unswerving dedication to the highest principles of the legal profession. Chuck leaves the Bowen School with a nationally and internationally engaged faculty and a diverse student body with applications at an all time high.
John DiPippa will lead the Bowen School of Law as Interim Dean. Associate Professor Felecia Epps takes over as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Dean DiPippa, who is a Distinguished Professor of Law and Public Policy, has been Associate Dean for Academic Affairs since 2001. He also teaches at the Clinton School of Public Service. He has been on the faculty of the Bowen School for 25 years.
Felecia Epps received her J.D. from Creighton University and teaches courses in criminal law and procedure. She came to the UALR Bowen faculty in 1999 from Georgia Legal Services.
Dean DiPippa says of the Bowen School: The story of the Bowen Law School is compelling. What other school so young only 30 years old can point to this record of achievement: federal and state judges, federal and state elected officials, partners in major law firms, Fortune 500 counsel, and conscientious public servants and a dynamic faculty with an expanding national and international reputation that is second to none.
Beginning August 1, the Bowen School will conduct a national search for a permanent dean. Dean Epps will serve as vice chair of a broad-based search committee composed of faculty, student, alumni, university, and academic partner representatives.
